Jordan Quellman is a director & director of photography based in New York City. Jordan’s career started in Southeast Asia where he garnered an MFA degree from acclaimed NYU Tisch Asia in Singapore. He went on to shoot & direct commercials, shorts and features in the surrounding region, cutting his teeth on stories from the bustling docks of Macau to the congested streets of Mumbai, winning the Kodak Gold Award twice. Jordan’s current work focuses primarily on the reharmonization of industrialized humanity with nature. These past few years he spent significant time immersed in indigenous territories of Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil documenting the mythologies, lifestyles and profiles of the local communities. Weaving a tapestry of tales together, these stories suggest a memory that needs reminder.
With strong emphasis on the power of narrative filmmaking, from the deforested savannas of the Amazon rainforest, to emergency medical clinics in Uganda to the scorched forests of the Sierra Nevadas, Jordan utilizes his passion for the art of filmmaking toward the agency of change, hoping that empowering stories of the human spirit will bring awareness and imprint an everlasting good on this earth.
